An exclusive new 2013 Ford Mustang based on the Thunderbird planes used by the United States Air Force has been manufactured to benefit the Young Eagles program of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Ford has been the only automaker to sponsor World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration, the EEA AirVenture. The special edition Thunderbird-inspired Mustang is vehicle number six that Ford has built custom and offered as a donation to benefit the Young Eagles Program.
This Mustang will feature a bright white exterior paint job along with accents of red and blue, to bring out the patriotic spirit of both the Thunderbird and Mustang. Other logos and emblems will be added to the sports car’s exterior to further link the plane and car. In addition to wide body modifications, a customized “belly pan” has be added to increase the resemblance between the two. Differentiating the mustang even more are the custom 22-in wheels.
Embroidered Thuderbird features adorn the interior of the Mustang, along with new puddle lights, Recaro® seats, a modified navigation screen and more! With all of the other modifications and the fact that this Mustang is representing the USAF Thunderbird, it’s only logical that the car’s performance be altered too. Boosted by Ford Racing components, the Thunderbird Mustang is equipped with a suspension handling pack, Brembo® brakes and a Ford Racing supercharger.
